He said, "Forbid Allah that we take except (one) who, we found our possession with him. Indeed, we then surely (would be) wrongdoers."
View 80 More Translations ↓He answered: "May God preserve us from [the sin of] detaining any other than him with whom we have found our property-for then, behold, we would indeed be evildoers!"
He said, 'God forbid that we should take any other but him in whose possession we found the goods; for if we did so, we would be evildoers.
He said: "Allah forbid that we take other than him with whom we found our property: indeed (if we did so), we should be acting wrongfully
قَالَ مَعَاذَ ٱللَّهِ أَن نَّأۡخُذَ إِلَّا مَن وَجَدۡنَا مَتَـٰعَنَا عِندَهُۥۤ إِنَّاۤ إِذࣰا لَّظَـٰلِمُونَ ٧٩
qāla maʿādha l-lahi an nakhudha illā man wajadnā matāʿanā ʿindahu innā idhan laẓālimūn
